Together we can Sparkle.

  The founder Dr. Frankie Alstin-Brooks had a passion to help her community. She saw a need where people were going to bed hungry or overweight/obese due to consuming non-nutritious foods. She also had a love for crafting. Her niece Jasmyn Thomas had a love for crafting as well. Frankie decided to start her own non-profit organization centered around her passion and involving her love for crafting. She decided to partner with Jasmyn on this venture. 

Jasmyn is a young energetic teen that decided life is better when it sparkles. She started working on embellishing different items during the 2020 pandemic shutdown. She began to give them to her friends and family to brighten their day; every item was embellished with a bit of sparkle and hence the name, "Jasmyn's Sparkles". A small non-profit company was given one of her customized bookmarkers and asked to purchase a few dozen. Jasmyn had not thought about selling them, but was excited about the opportunity. Her entrepreneurial mind started to spin and she thought, why not sell my favorite things with a touch of embellishment for everyone to buy! She knew her ideas would make people smile, but wondered how she could also impact her community? Jasmyn was always taught that if you have a gift, then it should be shared with your community. So she decided to sell her "Sparkles" and offer a portion of the proceeds to help with food insecurities in her community.

Every week she would buy a weeks worth of groceries with her proceeds for a family that may have been affected by the pandemic.   

Jasmyn has been taught to reach for the sky, so she hopes her sparkles will one day grow to help feed those in need across the state of Pennsylvania and the tri-state area!

Jasmyn's favorite quote that she modifies is ,"Reach for the moon and even if you miss you will still be amongst the stars and you will surely Sparkle! "

In March 2021, during a time when thousands of people were going to bed hungry due to COVID-19, Frankie decided she was ready. She and Jasmyn decided to create crafts and sell them, with a portion of the profit going towards the non-profit organization. 

From there, the giving began. They were able to feed a needy family for a week every month. The organization would find a needy family, purchase enough nutritious groceries for a week and deliver it to the family's home. 

  It is important to understand that being food insecure is not just about lacking food it is also about lacking access to nutritious foods. Our goal is to provide nutritious food to as many needy families as we can. 

We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Using data driven models, we provide solutions that make a long-lasting difference.
